Miracle, the dog Miracle's CT scan
miracles happen

Her Conception Was A Miracle. Her Survival Was A Miracle.

Her Story Is An Inspiration To All Who Believe That Modern
Veterinary Medicine Can Work Miracles.

What's in a name? This energetic young Jack Russell terrier's name is Miracle, and with good reason. She was conceived from sperm donated by her late grandfather and frozen ten years prior. When the sonogram showed a successful pregnancy, Dr. Alan Green noted on the image "miracle".

Less than six months into her life, Miracle was hit by a car and sustained a severe cervical fracture. Her life was in great jeopardy as she was rushed to the Emergency & Critical Care unit at KBVC. There, her condition was stabilized, and a CT scan revealed severely fractured cervical vertebrae. Dr. Robert C. Hart and his surgical team performed the delicate surgery to secure shattered neck bone fragments, saving a life that was a miracle from the start.

At left is one of the many CT scan images that revealed the severely fractured cervical vertebrae which threatened Miracle’s life.
